LOCATION: Virtual, Lawrenceville
Kiana Robinson is currently an art therapy and clinical mental health graduate student studying at Antioch University of New England. She completed her B.A in Psychology undergraduate degree right in the heart of Pittsburgh at Chatham University. Art has been an integral part of her life and is the reason why she is passionate about pursuing a degree in art therapy.
Kiana currently works at a community-based nonprofit organization with children and adolescents, helping them navigate and heal from trauma experienced within their communities. She has experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including individuals with ADHD and those on the autism spectrum, and has provided care for children and families through MHY Family Services.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and holistic, emphasizing the power of creative expression. She is passionate about fostering safe, inclusive spaces where individuals can explore their identities, emotions, and personal needs. Kiana’s education has taught her how to integrate art into the therapeutic environment using various mediums such as drawing, painting, and other mixed media. She believes that art is a tool and an extension within the therapeutic process that can be used when clients may not have the words to express themselves verbally.
As a therapist, Kiana values understanding each client’s unique backgrounds and brings a multicultural focus to therapy. She is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and an advocate for BIPOC voices, committed to empowering every individual she meets.
Outside of her clinical work, Kiana enjoys making art, cooking, spending time in nature–especially hiking and kayaking, and also staying active through fitness.
